Their are better rads fans to pick from.īeQuiet - My second favorite fans to date, I haven't used Silent Wings 3 yet, only version 2. Noctua - I never liked the sound they made, It's a subjective matter.

So far ML Pro are giving me the best cooling & noise performance to date.ĮK Vardars do have an annoying whine coil in them once you hit around 1000 rpm. I have used fans from Noctua to EK Vardar's for my rads. I can tell you I'm very impressed with ML Pro fans. Even at low rpm you should get better CFM then whats reported. However 120 can hit the 95 range & 140 are way above the 100 range. I believe it's reported the fans do max of 75 CFM or something around their.

I can tell you Corsair ML series does better then what Corsair reports, Specially with the CFM data. I believe Amazon & Newegg are selling them for around 22 to 24 dollars per fan right now.ĭon't use the company's data charts, usually they are off when comparing them to real world usage. As I say, my priority is silence, but obviously I want decent cooling, so a fair balance needs to be struck. I don't need PWM necessarily, either or really, so if a non-PWM variety is best, so be it. The NB Eloops did catch my eye as well, but I've seen mixed reviews. Interestingly the Phanteks 140MP fans seem to rate quite highly in that chart above, and they are quite cheap. I can't say they're overly loud, but they do have a bit of whine. I'm currently using some Phanteks 140SP fans I had, but I don't like the noise. I only have a CPU in the loop currently with a single 280 rad, so I don't need crazy air performance, silence is my goal, but I will be OC'ing so I want to keep temps in check. Has me intrigued as to the ML140 and how that will fair on my rad, but they are very expensive fans, more than I was initially intending to spend. However, I have a Pro 120 as a case fan currently (it was given to me), and it's virtually silent. I'd actually written them off due to having the basic non-LED ML120's on a rad before and finding they had a sound I did not care for. I was not looking at the High Speed version though, so I don't know how that would compare. Would it be worth replacing the fans on the Corsair H115i Pro for either better noise levels or better temperatures/airflow?ĥ.Looking at that link above, it seems at the speeds I'd be running at (below 1000), the SW3 is one of noisiest? Which seems odd in light of the overall positive conclusion the review comes to. Would either fan be very loud in the Meshify C? Especially considering the case's very high rated airflow?Ĥ. How do they compare in terms of noise levels for both to achieve the same performance?ģ. How do the Corsair LL120 fans compare with the Be Quiet! Silent Wings 3 in terms of temperature and airflow?Ģ. I know the case fans aren't exactly similar, especially considering one is an RGB fan and the other prioritizes performance and silence, but I do not know if sacrificing the aesthetics of the LL120s would really be worth it over the Silent Wings 3 in the Meshify C case, considering its air flow is already exceptional and the fans should not need to spin at such a high RPM (correct me if I'm wrong please).ġ. Would the LL120s be a lot louder to achieve the same temps and airflow as the Silent Wings 3? I believe that these fans have pretty good performance too for airflow and temps, but I don't know how loud they are, and if it is worth getting them for the aesthetics in a case such as the Meshify C.

However, I also want my PC to look good and I was originally planning on getting a 3 pack of Corsair LL120 RGB fans, 1 at the rear and 2 on top (the rad from the H115i will go at the front). I have heard the Be Quiet! Silent Wings 3 are very quiet and good performers, which will be good for the case I am using: the Meshify C, as since it is a very open case without much/any sound insulation, and I do not want a very loud PC. I am unsure if I will overclock my CPU or not in the future, but I am planning on buying a good AIO cooler in case I do, namely the Corsair H115i Pro, as I have heard it is an excellent performer and fairly quiet.

I'm going to be building a PC based around the RTX 3080 which will be primarily used for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and a few other games, and currently I am stuck on what fans to buy.
